Our First Youth Music Workshop

In May 2026, six young musicians participated in SCMF’s first free four-week Harlem Youth Music Workshop at Harlem Music Studios. That first program gave the foundation a starting point. We’re now working to bring more music opportunities to young people through workshops, school programs, and community partnerships.

Why Small Groups Matter

Our workshop approach gives students room to participate, ask questions, and receive individual attention while learning alongside others. We aim to help young musicians strengthen their skills and become more comfortable expressing their ideas.

What Comes Next

We’re building on that first workshop by seeking support for additional youth programs and developing relationships with schools and community organizations across New York City.

Support helps cover teaching artists, program space, learning materials, and coordination. As we offer more programs, we’ll share updates on participation, student work, and feedback from students and families.

Be Part of the Next Workshop

Help make music education accessible to more young people, or bring a workshop or live music presentation to your school or community organization.
