About the Foundation
Based in Harlem, New York, Shareef Clayton Music Foundation helps young people learn, create, and connect through music.
Founded by trumpeter and educator Shareef Clayton, SCMF brings professional musicians into youth workshops, school programs, and live jazz presentations. Students have opportunities to explore instruments, play together, and share what they’ve learned through performance.
Our work began with a free four-week workshop serving six young musicians. We’re building on that start through partnerships with schools and community organizations across New York City.
